Dedicated pop-up queer spaces and events across the Isle of Wight for LGBTQ+ island folk and visitors
About
QUEER AND NOW
Queer & Now CIC is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2023, by a group fabulous queers with one hope of providing safe spaces for fellow community members. They decided to do this by running pop-up events on the Isle of Wight for LGBTQ+ Islanders and Visitors.
We have and continue to work with friendly bars, restaurants and cafes across the Island and put on dedicated regular events, in an exclusive environment for the queer community.
In 2025 Queer and Now were given the opportunity of a fixed premise thanks to South Western Rail. This gave birth to Dorothy's, a dedicated Queer hub that opened in December 2025. The space will be home to our regular events as well as housing many other organisations that find themselves venue hoping, as well as the ability to provide an integrated space for the local community focusing on well-being. In order to help support our members feel safe, we operate an exclusive membership that is just for members of the queer community and is how people access events and Dorothy's. We run an events policy that means that a member can sign in an ally, as we understand that stepping out can be a hard thing to do but often made easier with the kind support of friends. click below to find out about membership
